Little Learners Pre-School 

As your child develops so to do their needs. Our aim is to support the learning and development of each individual child by providing an integrated, balanced, broad, stimulating and differentiated curriculum. To achieve this key workers continue to work in partnership with parents.


Children have an inbuilt desire to learn and our pre-school rooms provide a secure learning environment which enables children to be respectful of themselves and others. The pre-school offers a varied curriculum which includes both adult and child initiated curriculums. Within this curriculum framework your child will have an opportunity to build on their already acquired knowledge, information, ideas and concepts. As they grow they begin to understand the ability to classify, organise and apply knowledge to their everyday tasks.


At Little Learners we focus on ensuring young children learn through play and exploration with support for each individual. We encourage children to develop their imagination and to get actively involved in decision making. We make every attempt to develop children’s creative and critical thinking balancing the need for both the children and practitioners to lead the learning.


The early years setting is only one part of the child’s world and therefore we aim to reflect the child’s cultural background with our resources and celebrations. As good  practitioners we know that truly ‘listening’ and responding to children allows an inclusive approach to develop naturally. Positive images addressing equality in all areas feature in displays and resources and cultural and linguistic diversity are celebrated and supported.


In order to plan an environment that really embraces and supports young children as learners our practitioners need to understand the nature of children’s learning. Our highly qualified staff work under the guidance of our Early Years Teacher  who also holds the Early Years Professional status. Staff training is readily available both internally and externally. This allows us to be responsive to the changing environment and as reflective practitioners we are constantly evaluating our own learning needs.


Your child will be eligible to the free entitlement for nursery education from the government the term after their third birthday.
